A husband-and-wife team has opened eco-friendly shops next door to each other at a South Derbyshire attraction. Melbourne residents Mark and Lisa Wyatt both run stores at Rosliston Forestry Centre, near Swadlincote.

Mark, who is 37, owns Our Mystical Planet, which sells incense, crystals, salt lamps and gifts. Lisa, aged 39, stocks a wide range of environmentally-friendly products, including refills of shampoo, conditioner and washing-up liquid at her Our Innocent Planet store.

The couple previously traded at Craythorne Farm Courtyard, in East Staffordshire, before making the move to the National Forest attraction earlier this spring. Commenting on how the first couple of months of trading have gone since opening on April 1, Mark said: "The first few weeks of trading have been great we’ve met so many people, especially on the mystical side so many stories and experiences that people have had has been really intriguing.

"Not only is it important for people to shop local but you're also helping the environment and for people to support our business it means them doing their own little bit for the environment and also helping their mental well-being within the mystical side. You are also helping support the Forestry Centre in the great work they do by keeping a business like ours open."

Mark has years of experience within the mystical realm by working as a paranormal investigator for more than a decade which lead to him being featured on TV, radio and in magazine articles. Going into more detail about the make-up of their business and what customers can expect in-store, Mark said: "We are one business but operate two separate entities within the one.

"Our Innocent Planet is our eco-friendly range of products and refills which is my wife's side of the business, and Our Mystical Planet, my side of the business, which is also eco-friendly with incense, crystals, salt lamps and gifts etc.

"We have refillable bottles of shampoo, conditioner, washing-up liquid, laundry detergent - the list goes on. Everything we sell in here is environmentally friendly and sourced sustainably, including the crystals and smudging sticks. We also sell a range of eco-friendly dog products including shampoo bars."

Mark and Lisa Wyatt are supporting Derbyshire Live's Love Your Local campaign. Over the past 10 months, we have showcased a host of independent retail and hospitality businesses across the county to help people rediscover hidden gems in their local shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Rosliston Forestry Centre offers woodland walks, indoor and outdoor play, cycle hire, fishing, gift shops and a restaurant. It is located in Burton Road, Rosliston, near Swadlincote.
