Stuffed toy maker creates realistic plush toys of departed pets

Pet owners usually face the painful realization that their pets’ lifespans are usually shorter than humans. Yet one way grieving furparents have found to cope with their loss is through commissioning lifelike plush toys that resemble their babies that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

Pampanga Teddy Bear Factory in Angeles, Pampanga has made the rounds on social media for creating realistic versions of beloved and departed pets, helping fill a hole in the hearts of their humans who still mourn their passing.

The toy factory was founded by David Tan. With a team of 20 employees, the maker has memorialized different kinds of pets, such as dogs, cats, rabbits, and even hamsters.

Synthetic fur is used to recreate the appearance of the animals, airbrushing the strands to recreate the markings and colors.

One plush toy costs about PHP3,500 (US$63.35), with an average size of 24 inches in length.

The demand to clone pets that have passed away has apparently gotten so high that the shop recently requested that customers have some patience as they respond to their inquiries.
