Pet supplies heading to Helene-impacted areas from Lebanon County
PALMYRA, Pa. (WHTM) — More supplies are heading to Helene-damaged parts of North Carolina from our area.
Volunteers packed trailers at the Vetting Zoo in Palmyra Sunday ahead of a trip down south.
There, they’ll drop off the supplies to rescue groups in desperate need after flooding destroyed their facilities.
The Vetting Zoo, Waggin’Wheels Pet Supply, and Angels Among Us Senior Dog Sanctuary put out the call for donations from the community and they responded.
“I get goosebumps thinking about it because they have come out in droves . We had an Amazon wish list and there were boxes coming multiple times a day,” Dr. Diane Ford, Owner of The Vetting Zoo, said. “There has got to be more than $25 thousand dollars worth of product here that is going. It’s amazing to know they have all come through for us.”
The group still needs disposable spoons, paper towels, as well as laundry and dish detergent.
Items can be dropped off at The Vetting Zoo, 327 Schoolhouse Road, during business hours.
The deadline is Wednesday.
