NDSU Veterinary Technician students collect supplies for local animal shelters - KVRR Local News
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – It’s National Vet Tech Week, and as part of the celebrations NDSU’s Vet Tech program is giving back to the community.
They are collecting pet supplies like blankets, towels, cages, food, treats and toys to give to animals in need at local shelters.
It’s an issue that hits close to home for many in the program, not just because of their love of animals, but also because of their partnerships with local shelters who bring their pets to be treated at NDSU, while the students get a learning experience.
“They need their vaccines, they need blood work. So our students get to use them to draw blood off of, give them their vaccines.”
“It’s a really kind of cool thing that we get to do and to work with these different kinds of animals from all different backgrounds and kind of get to see them grow alongside us.”
Donations are being collected through Friday. You can drop off any items that you wish to donate at Robinson Hall at NDSU.
